  • *If you aren’t sure and do not want to buy a USB, you can use mine, but you will have to practice DJing songs I have on mine

Hi everyone, I’m so excited to do this first DJ workshop. I’d like to think of it as us learning together. I’ve been DJing since 2018 and have had so many great experiences. It'’s such creative way of performing that requires problem-solving and playful thinking.

I learned how to DJ after being a musician for many years. I learned on the RX2 (that I will be using to teach you), and I was told that if I could DJ on an RX2, I would be able to use CDJs and a mixer. In 2019, I was booked to DJ an event where I was required to use their house CDJs & mixer - something I had never done before. But, from practicing on the RX2, I was able to DJ an amazing set and had the best time ever!

I will try my best to teach you what I know, but I want you to remember that there are many other styles of DJing out there. Youtube is a great resource. Another great way to learn is to watch other DJs’ hands carefully and see what they’re doing live. After some practicing, you should be able to hear and recognize how they’re mixing. Hopefully after this workshop, you will continue to explore and create your own unique style of DJing!

The most important part about DJing is that you love the music you play, have fun, and give that energy while directing the flow of the energy for your listeners. It is a beautiful relationship you form between your love for music and their love for dancing & listening. <3
